Glue on the pom pom nose. Then glue to the paper plate. Once the glue from the pipe cleaners is dry, glue on your nose (pom pom). Leave time to dry, as this step will require it to be glued well, or the pipe cleaners will fall off. ๐ Make the ears For the ears: Cut out some ears from white construction paper or cardstock, and then cut out a smaller inside ear with a different color. Tints and Shades Art Activity
Hello, friends. Today I’m going to show you how to make tints and shades using paint or brush.
The Value of this activity is the lightness or darkness of a color or area. You can change the value of a color by tinting or shading, pressing harder on your pencil, overlapping lines to increase the value (darkness).
All you need:
•Painting pad or white paper
•Pencil
•Ruler
•Brush
•Watercolors
•Apron for kid
How to do the tints and shades art activity?
First, you’re going to notice your paper. It already has a square on it with the line in the middle. Now we’re going to try to keep the paint in the middle of the square. So, it doesn’t get on the table.
The first thing I’m going to start with is straight color. We're going to start with blue. I’m gonna paint the blue stripe going back and forth. Just straight blue right in the middle.
When we get a nice big thick blue stripe now. I’m gonna take my brush where I can rinse it off and we're gonna take just a dab of white and tint it. I use my brush add a little bit more and keep tinting as I go down the page. So, what you notice is that the paper keeps getting lighter. The more white I add, the lighter it gets.
All right so now we've got lots of tints of blue starting with our normal regular blue and then we added white more and more white to the bottom. We're done with our tints from our blue to our light white. So, now we need to rinse our brush because we don't want any white on our brush.
Now we turn our page upside down and roll that brush around in the blue and add some more blue. I want to make it a little darker so I'm going to add even another corner of blue right on top and see how it's getting a little bit darker each time.
So, we don't see the square anymore, and these are our tints and shades starting from our lightest blue almost white, and then shading with blue to black.
This is what we're gonna do today.
