DIY - How to Make Paper Fish Origami

Easy Art and Craft for Kids

Hello, friends! You know a pretty origami fish is a cute decoration and a fun way to push your origami skills. So, today we're going to show you how to create the Fish Shape or Paper Fish Origami.

A pretty origami fish is a cute decoration and a fun way to push your origami skills.

๐Ÿ“ Requirements:

  1.  Square paper (It is best to start with a regular 15 x 15 cm)
  2. Blue or black marker
  3. Scissors
  4. Glue

The Starting Folds

  • Fold the paper in half both ways and unfold.
  • Fold the left and right to the center.
  • Fold the top and bottom edges to the center.
  • Pull the left and right center points up and out to the sides.
  • Squash the bottom folder into the center. Repeat the last step on the top section.

Now Creating the Fish Shape

  • Fold the flap down from the center as shown.
  • Fold the top and corners to the right as shown.
  • Flip the model over to the other side.
  • Fold the two top corners.
  • Fold the top flap towards the bottom.
  • Put a little bit of glue under it. Pat Pat...
  • Cut the round shape and draw an eye.

For a playful fish, feel free to add on the tail. You can make a smiling mouth, puckered lips, or anything else to give your fish a personality. You can fold many of them and stick them to a blue paper, hang them on your wall or window, etc.

If you use bright colors, it could make a very colorful room decoration for a bedroom, a classroom, etc.

Remember that origami can take practice. Make another one and it will be better than the first one! For more tutorials and also video instructions, look at Little Morokot on YouTube. Thank you!
